  23.                                                        WHAT IS ROMDOOR?

  26. RomDoor is an online program which allows access to CD-ROMs and their vast
  27. storage capablities.  It offers:
  28.  
  29.     ■ The ablity to run from 1-32 CD-ROMs, max of 1 in the non-registered
  30.       version
  31.     ■ Up to 32,000 file areas, 1,000 per CD-ROM disk!
  32.     ■ Provides a seamless interface with WildCat!
  33.     ■ No need for 0 byte files
  34.     ■ Offers all the features of the WC! file section including:
  35.           Text searches
  36.           File viewing (Provided you have an archive viewing program
  37.            such as DataView)
  38.           Downloading with internal and external protocols
  39.     ■ More powerful file listing ability then WC! including:
  40.           Scanning for text in area names
  41.           Jumping back and forth within an area
  42.     ■ Has an online statistics screen with the total files, bytes and
  43.       downloads of each file area
  44.     ■ Keeps it's own databases allowing for faster searches, unlike most
  45.       CD-ROM doors
  46.     * Allows the user to make file listings ON-LINE of specific file
  47.       areas, I.E. list the files to a text file which they can later
  48.       download
  49.     ■ Supports baud rates up to 115,000, as well as non-standard base
  50.       addresses and IRQs
  51.     ■ Does full carrier detection, inactivity checking, ratio checking,
  52.       and increments the users total downloads, etc...
  53.     ■ Each file can have 10 description lines of 40 characters each
  54.     ■ Fully Multi-Line compatible no extra configuration needed
  55.     ■ Option to copy files from CD-ROM to hard drive before download
  56.     ■ Ability to add a text file to the comment portion of a ZIP
  57.     ■ Works with PcBoard, and reads the security levels, external
  58.       protocols and other configuration information for easy setup
  59.     ■ Has ability to check volume labels to find out which CD-ROM disks

  77. are granted a limited license to use and share it under the following
  78. conditions:

  80. ■  RomDoor is not distributed in a modified form.
  81. ■  No fee is charged for RomDoor itself.
  82. ■  All references to the copyright and author are retained.

  93. Normally, software distributed through bulletin boards systems or
  94. shared from one user to another does not carry a warranty, mainly
  95. because the author does not have control over the product and the
  96. program can be modified either intentionally or accidentally
  97. without the author's knowledge.

  99. With that in mind RomDoor has a limited warranty if you receive it
  100. directly from the author.  If the program was not received directly from
  101. the author then there is a chance that the the documentation or the program
  102. itself of having been modified.  In that case there is no warranty, and
  103. the author will not be liable for any damages, whether direct, indirect,
  104. special or consequential arising from a failure of this program to operate
  105. in the manner desired by the user.  The author will not be liable for any
  106. damage to data or property which may be caused directly or indirectly by
  107. use of the program.

  109.    - What is covered:  The RomDoor program will perform substantially
  110.         as described in this document.  In addition, while the program
  111.         may contain minor bugs or errors, it is warranted to be free
  112.         of major defects for a period of six months.  Diskettes received
  113.         from the author are guaranteed to be free of defects for a period
  114.         of six months from date of receipt.
  115.  
  116.    - What is not covered:  The author will not be liable for incidental
  117.         and/or consequential damages, including injury to property,
  118.         interruption of service, loss of business and/or anticipated
  119.         profits, or other consequential damages that may result from use,
  120.         malfunction or failure of the RomDoor program, or from errors or
  121.         omissions in the documentation.  Some states do not allow the
  122.         exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages,
  123.         so the above limitation may not apply to you.

  125.      Any attempt to modify the RomDoor program will void this warranty
  126.      in its entirety.

  131.    - If there is a problem:  Within 60 days of notification that a major
  132.         defect exists, the author, at his discretion, will either fix the
  133.         program and forward the replacement at no cost to the registered
  134.         user, or will refund the registration fee.
  135.  
  136.      Defective diskettes will be replaced within 60 days at no cost
  137.         to the purchaser.
  138.  
  139.    - How to get service:  Send a written letter to the author detailing
  140.         the type of problem and symptoms experienced.  Include your name,
  141.         address, voice phone number and registration number and any
  142.         additional information that you believe may be useful, such as
  143.         any TSRs and disk cache programs in use.  The author may contact
  144.         you by voice or written letter for more information to help in
  145.         tracking down the problem.

  147. When trying new software, always backup any and all important files
  148. on your system.
